Retro Digital Hub is the studio of Ahsan Mustafa. Before building for clients, he rebuilt a US consulting firm from the inside and kept its systems running in production for 16 staff.

Nine years of remote client work
Since 2017 I have worked remotely for clients in the US, UK, Qatar, New Zealand and South Africa, at a 5.0 rating across 16 reviews. One of them, a US capital advisory firm, hired me full-time to run their operations.
Found a firm in email chaos
At Simple Consultant Group, Microsoft 365 was unmanaged and documents lived inside email threads. I rebuilt it on the stack they already paid for: 90+ SharePoint sites, Teams, Loop, Outlook routing, Power Automate and Power BI.
Built what Microsoft could not do
In four months I wrote the platform that runs the firm: 91 server modules, 29 pages and 2,203 automated tests, covering intake, projects, document control, invoicing, e-signing and five external portals.
From intake to CTO
I was promoted from intake to Operations & Compliance Manager and then Chief Technology Officer. Before that I was a bookkeeper, so invoices, ledgers, contracts and compliance are familiar ground.

Rebuilt an unmanaged Microsoft 365 firm: 90+ SharePoint sites under one naming, metadata and permission standard, Teams, Loop, Outlook rules, M365 Groups, 10 Power Automate flows and embedded Power BI.
Built departmental, broker and investor portals, including an investor data room with capital-stack explainers and a three-stage deal pipeline.
Designed the operating flow every deal moves through (intake, underwriting, legal and funding queues) and a control room showing live progress, department load and portfolio status in one view.
In four months, wrote the platform that replaced what Microsoft could not do: 91 server modules and 29 interface pages on Google Apps Script.
Wrote 2,203 automated tests and five verification tools that check the live system, since Apps Script has no local runtime.
Built five external portals (client, broker, investor, upload, e-signing) with one-time email code login.
Designed document control over Drive: 37 filing categories, per-file visibility per audience and admin approval before release.
Administered both tenants, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, for 16 staff, and ran them in production: accounts, access, versioned deployment, scheduled jobs, backups, audit logging and role-based access.
Compliance: read every inbound contract against the governing law (Florida), flagged terms that did not serve the firm, and drafted the rebuttal and the clauses to restore, including mediation and dispute resolution. The principal signed agreements on that reading.
Owned external correspondence: the shared inbox and everything arriving from clients, brokers, investors and counterparties, triaged, routed and answered.
Evaluated third-party tools: configured Stripe against its API, dropped HubSpot once per-seat cost outgrew the benefit, and retired Monday.com when it added more confusion than order.
